About us
Founded in 1898 and headquartered with its main manufacturing facilities in Hattingen, Germany.
Köppern’s history is linked to the utilization of roller presses for briquetting of coal.
During the 20th century, the company expanded areas of the roller presses application and started production of roller presses for bulk materials compaction as well as high-pressure grinding rolls (HPGR) for the cement and minerals processing industry.
Currently, Köppern HPGR technology is widely used for various ores and minerals (iron, gold, molybdenum, zinc, lead, kimberlite etc.) grinding all around the world, enabling our customers to increase the capacity and efficiency of ore beneficiation and reduce power consumption.
Since its foundation Köppern reflects values of technology leadership, due to highly dependable manufacturing quality and a unique regard for the individual needs of its customers. Köppern’s worldwide network of subsidiaries provides customer-focused service on all continents.

Products & Services
High-pressure grinding roller press (HPGRs) are emerging as an important comminution technology in the minerals processing industry. HPGR are employed in various combinations with other equipment for preliminary and finish grinding. Energy savings is an important factor for using this technology.
Depending on the grinding system used, capacity improvements of up to 250% and/or a reduction of the specific energy consumption of up to 40% can be achieved. Köppern high-pressure grinding rolls are easily operated and maintained. Thanks to drive and roller components being arranged separately, the rollers can be quickly removed and replaced for maintenance needs.
These technological advances have resulted in a significant drop in machine time-outs caused by wear and repairs. For Köppern’s customers, the resulting increase in productivity, coupled with a parallel reduction in energy consumption, enables them to compete more successfully in their own market segments.
